Plethora of Plate Racks

As an Interior Designer, I’m drawn to organization and charming ways to display a personal collection. I love curating my interiors with unique finds and lately, I’ve had my heart set on plate racks for a current dining room project. Now I can’t stopping hunting Pinterest for inspiration, sound familiar?? In the end, I’ve pinned a few of my favorites to share on the blog with you.

Maybe you're also sourcing for inspiration, so you’re welcome, LOL! The storage opportunities are unlimited. There’s traditional toppers above an antique buffet piece, or maybe it finishes the side of a cabinet. I of course fancy the more custom built-in styles. Inspired by my all time favorite Nancy Myer’s film, “Something’s Gotta Give”, the dining room in all its subtlety has the perfect storage unit built for displaying a large collection of ironware plus functional base cabinets for hidden storage. The finishing details and bead board backing make this feel like a furniture piece. I just love it!!

…or this beautiful space designed by Erin Feasby. I just love the muted color palette. It feels like Spring and Autumn at the same time. The black lantern draws your eyes to the pale grey wall of creamware above the soft yellow settee. This dining space is the perfect harmony, again with a built-in plate rack. When floor space is limited, this design concept works appropriately without compromising seating. Notice the settee sits against the wall below the plate rack niche. It’s backdrop from this view is inviting, elegant and casual.
